Kuje Area Council spouse flags off 3-day skill acquisition programme for women and youth

The Wife of the Executive Chairman of Kuje Area Council, Haj. Salamatu Abdullahi Sabo has officially flagged off a 3-day skills acquisation programme for women and youth across the Council. The empowerment scheme which is the first of its kind in Kuje Area Council will be training over 250 women and youth irrespective of religion, tribe and party affiliations on make up, soap making, shampoo, body cream, household chemicals among others.

In her opening remarks, the wife of the Chairman said the initiative to empower the less privileged members of the council was borne out of the desire to emulate the leadership qualities of her husband whose love for women and youth, particularly the less privileged is second to none. She however called on the beneficiaries to make good use of the opportunity provided to better their lives.

The resource persons/trainers who spoke similarly commended the foresight of the First Lady for empowering Women and Youth across the council especially widows and orphans. The Women Development Officer, Kuje Area Council, who also addressed the beneficiaries, appreciated the First Lady for coming to the aid of the people.
