College of Education Zuba hosts AITIE third conference

The third International Conference of the Association for Innovative Technology Integration in Education (AITIE) took place recently at the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) College of Education, Zuba.

The provost of the College Dr.Muhammad Gambo Hamza in his opening remark noted that AITIE is a professional association of academic and non-teaching media specialists, instructional designers, distant education specialists and other stakeholders interested in improving teaching and learning through innovation and creative use of technology.

He commended the members of the association for organising an international conference to critically assess the role of information and communication technology for effective education service delivery at basic, secondary and tertiary levels of education.

According to him, with the evolution of information and communication technology (ICT), the world is going through a rapid change and so, ICT advantage should be extended to all. The provost however, appealed to stakeholders across the Federation and beyond to partner with AITIE to realise the laudable objectives of the deployment of ICT for effective education service delivery in Nigeria.

The Association Chairman, laud the Host Institution for given them such opportunity to hold the association third conference and particularly the school provost for carving out time to be part of them at the time that his schedules are very tight. Furthermore, he enjoined all members to continue to strive hard as the world is going on rapid development on ICT, they should not relent as a research based association of thinking tank.

Emmanuel Godwin, a member of the group, expressed their readiness to co-operate with government in any area of need to enhance and come-up with modalities so as to aide and ease government business through ICT in the FCT and Nigeria in general.

The Minister said these after a meeting of the FCT Security Committee which comprises heads of the police, military and para-military formations in FCT as well as Area Council Chairmen and religious leaders.

The cheery news is coming as Minister of State, FCT, Dr. Ramatu Tijjani Aliyu will headline a distinguished galaxy of stakeholders for the FCT pension stakeholders retreat this week.

Finally last week, Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) took over managing and operating the newly- completed Nigeria-Korea Model School in Abuja.

Minister of Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Malam Muhammad Musa Bello has decried the lynching of three suspected traffic robbers popularly known as 'One chance' in Dutsen Alhaji area of Abuja last week.

Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) always makes public the allocations in line with President Muhammadu Buhari's Change Agenda which harps on transparency, anti-corruption and accountability, tenets which FCT Minister, Malam Muhammad Musa Bello has made his beacon.
