AUMTCO to offer free bus services to soldiers, others

The Management of Abuja Urban Mass Transport Company (AUMTCO) popularly known as 'El-rufai' has resolved to offer free bus service to Military, Paramilitary, National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members on uniform only.

The Head of Marketing and Communications of AUMTCO, Mr. Tunde Akintola disclosed this to Abuja Digest Weekly in his office last week saying this was in addition to the current free bus service for students of primary and secondary schools on uniform within the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

He said this was aimed at "giving back to the society as part of our Corporate Social Responsibility to Nigerian Army, Navy, Air Force, Police, Immigration, Customs, Fire Service, Correctional Service, National Security and Civil Defence Corp (NSCDC) among others risking their lives to protect lives and property in our society when going to their various offices and returning as well once they are on their uniforms".

Malam Bello acknowledged and commended the good work of all health workers in FCT, especially for their efforts at combating the coronavirus.

Speaking to journalists last week at Asokoro District Hospital, where he is currently receiving treatment, Dr. Kawu explained that his journey to the isolation center began 12 days earlier when he experienced feverish conditions, prompting him to take the COVID-19 test which turned out positive.

Executive Secretary, Federal Capital Development Authority (FCDA), Engr. Umar Gambo Jibrin, sounded the note of warning when he led an inter-departmental technical committee on inspection tour of some parts of the nation's capital city to assess the level of degradation perpetrated through activities of illegal developers

Chairman of the newly constituted FCT Ministerial Task Force on City Sanitation, Ikharo Attah handed the ultimatum during stakeholders' meeting with owners of businesses around the area on Monday.
