A statement made available to journalists by her Special Assistant on Media, Austine Elemue, said Aliyu made the call last week when the FCT chapter of Women in Planning paid her a congratulatory visit. She said:"We are here to congratulate one of our own, the Minister of State for FCT for the elevation as Minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. We want to use this opportunity to advocate for the establishment of Association of Women in Planning of Nigeria as is the case of other professional groups like Law, Pharmacy, Engineering, among others.

"We are equally using this medium for capacity building for town planners, especially women, and we are calling for review of the FCT Development Plan. More importantly, there is need to address issues of resettlement hindering effective planning and development of the FCT." The highpoint of the visit was the presentation of congratulatory card to the Minister of State on her new position.
