Hazard happy to be Europa League Best Player

16th Sept, 2019 | By Our Reporter | ||

Eden Hazard led Chelsea to glory in Europe last season and that has seen him named Europa League Player of the Season for 2018/19. Hazard, who left for Real Madrid after the Europa League final, was joined on the podium by Chelsea striker Olivier Giroud and Luka Jovic, who shone for Eintracht Frankfurt before making the move to Real Madrid in the summer.

The Belgian scored two goals in the final as Chelsea beat Arsenal 4-1 in Baku, though he could not attend the gala because he is injured and is continuing his recovery at Valdebebas. "Thank you very much for this prize," Hazard said in a video message.

"It is an honour for me, and I want to wish all the players who will play in the Europa League this season a lot of luck."
