Foreign embassy favors 100 FCT students with scholarships

Fortune is set to smile on 100 indigenous students of Federal Capital Territory (FCT) as the Embassy of Sao Tome and Principe is on the verge of handing them scholarships. The offer from the oil-rich nation, which comes in cash, is already at an advanced stage of processing.

Information on the scholarship offer was made to the Office of FCT Minister, Malam Muhammad Musa Bello. Director, FCT Scholarship Board, Hajiya Zainab Ahmed Kagara, broke the news exclusively to Abuja Digest Weekly.

According to her, sequel to the information being forwarded to her agency from the Minister's Office, staff members were deployed who went round FCT 17 chiefdoms to pick the 100 students, who must be in 100-level in higher institutions, as required by the Embassy.

She said the Embassy officials promised to contact each student in person, for which they were given telephone numbers of the potential beneficiaries. The Embassy also collected bank details of the beneficiaries, Kagara revealed.
