Apr, 2021 | By Adaobi Nwagbo | ||

Director, Finance and Account, Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Secondary Education Board (SEB), Mrs. Ruth Nanle Gazi has urged all bursars in SEB-run schools to improve themselves professionally. Gazi offered the advice during a one-day meeting with the bursars at Government Secondary School (GSS), Garki, recently.

Addressing the participants, she emphasized that it is never too late to acquire knowledge. Gazi also advised the bursars to avoid being at loggerheads with principals of their schools, but cautioned them to maintain a peaceful working environment. Speaking further, Gazi emphasized the need for the bursars to keep their books clean as auditors can turn up any time in their schools for checks.

Also speaking, the Director, Administration, SEB, Usman Aliyu, told the bursars to be prudent in managing public funds in their custody and strive for professional excellence. The director also urged them to contribute their best in service to the fatherland and help make Nigeria a better place.

Taking his turn to speak, Deputy Director, Finance and Account, SEB, Jibrin Akoro Ashara, urged the bursars to show greater commitment to work and within stipulated work schedules too, warning them against lackadaisical attitude to work. Responding on behalf of the bursars, Shaibu Kareem of GSS Kwali, thanked the management for the meeting, assuring that bursars will comply with all that was said at the event.
