FCTA Establishes COVID-19 Vaccination Centre at Millennium Park

Authorities of the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA), has established a COVID-19 Vaccination Centre at the Millennium Park.

The setting up of the new vaccination center at the Park is to ensure that all fun seekers visiting the Park are vaccinated before gaining access to the recreational facility.

The Department of Parks and Recreation in collaboration with FCT Primary Healthcare Board has immediately established the Vaccination Centre in line with the directives of the FCT Minister, Mallam Muhammad Musa Bello.

In compliance with the Ministerial directive, officials of the Recreation and Cultural Services Division of the Department of Parks & Recreation have since been deployed to the Millennium Park to monitor and ensure compliance to COVID-19 protocols by the Park users.

Bello, insisted that all users of the just re- reopened Millennium Park without previous record of vaccination must be vaccinated before granting such persons access into the premises.

Speaking with Abuja Digest on the development, Director, Parks & Recreation, Hajiya Risikat AbdulAziz, said all the directives of the Minister must be carried out to the latter.
According to her, the reopened Millennium Park is a testimony to what an idle Park & Garden should be, in line with the global best practices.

Also speaking, Executive Secretary , FCT Primary Healthcare Board, Dr. Yahaya Isah Vatsa, said the Administration specially, created the Vaccination Centre at the Park in total compliance with the Minister’s directive and emphasized the importance of COVID-19 vaccination.

He advised all would be users of the facility to cooperate with the Administration to ensure that no one contract the virus after visiting the Park .
