AGIS Gets New Director

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Barr. Nyesom Wike, has approved the appointment of Mr. Umar Sayyadi as the Overseeing Director of the Abuja Geographic Information Systems (AGIS).
This was contained in an appointment letter issued on the 20th day of January, 2025 and signed by Mrs. Grace Adayilo, the FCT Head of the Civil Service.
According to the appointment letter, the new Director is expected to work in synergy in achieving the task ahead.
The Minister enjoined the new Director to uphold diligence, dedication, with personal initiative, exemplary leadership, loyalty and commitment as he discharges his new responsibilities.
Wike also charged the new appointee to rise to the challenges of the new office in discharging both primary and other duties that are statutory and mandatory for the development of the Territory.
His words: “It is envisaged that you will rise to the challenges of the new office in discharging of your primary duties.”
Accordingly, the appointment is with immediate effect.
Abuja Digest reports that before this appointment, Mr. Umar Sayyadi was the Deeds Registrar in the Department of Land Administration.
Abuja Digest further reports that the Abuja Geographic Information Systems (AGIS) is an Agency under the Federal Capital Territory Administration, which is saddled with the responsibility of providing geo-spatial data which assists the authorities in the decision-making in the Territory.
