Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Barrister Nyesom Wike, has declared that the visible, verifiable execution of major development projects under the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu administration has placed the FCT firmly in the bag for the President and the ruling party.
Wike made this declaration on Thursday, 24 September, 2026, while speaking to newsmen after an inspection of the almost completed Apo-Karshi Road and the Bwari-Kubwa Road.
The Minister highlighted that the current administration has fundamentally redefined infrastructure delivery across both the Federal Capital City and the satellite towns.
He noted that projects long abandoned by previous administrations—such as the Apo-Karshi road originally awarded in 2010—had their contracts revoked, re-awarded to capable contractors, and set for completion within deadlines.
He emphasized that tangible results, rather than empty political promises, serve as the ultimate campaign for good governance. He noted that the enthusiasm and spontaneous support demonstrated by Abuja residents during field visits reflect widespread public appreciation for the government’s responsiveness to their daily infrastructural needs.
Addressing ongoing political debates and upcoming election cycles, Wike stated that the administration has nothing to fear because performance remains the ultimate benchmark for voters.
With contractors committing to critical completion targets between November and December, the Minister reiterated his conviction that the transformation of the nation’s capital through quality road networks and basic amenities guarantees a decisive victory for President Tinubu and his team.
