Napoli Crowned Serie A Champions

Napoli won the Serie A title in exciting fashion with a 2-0 home victory over Cagliari on Friday. Goals from Scott McTominay and Romelu Lukaku helped the team secure the trophy in front of a packed Diego Armando Maradona Stadium.
The title race was very close going into the final round, with Napoli only one point ahead of Inter Milan. They needed a win to make sure of the title, and they got it.
McTominay gave Napoli the lead just before half-time. He scored a stunning bicycle kick after a cross from Matteo Politano, sending the home fans into wild celebration.
Just six minutes into the second half, Lukaku made it 2-0. He chased a long ball, pushed off a defender, and calmly scored past Cagliari goalkeeper Alen Sherri.
From that point, the rest of the match was a celebration. Fans lit flares and smoke filled the stadium as fireworks lit up the Naples sky after the final whistle.
McTominay and Lukaku were the two players Napoli coach Antonio Conte wanted most to bring the title back to Naples. They proved to be the difference this season.
Conte, who was suspended for the final match, has now made history. He is the first coach to win the Italian league with three different teams—Juventus, Inter Milan, and now Napoli.
Inter Milan, who finished just one point behind, will now turn their focus to the Champions League final against Paris Saint-Germain next Saturday.
If the two teams had finished with the same number of points, a playoff would have been needed to decide the title. But Napoli finished the job and are now the champions of Italy.
