FCT Minister, Barr. Nyesom Wike has said that President Bola Tinubu’s performance is unprecedented.

He stated this on Thursday while speaking to journalists after inspection of ongoing projects in Abuja.

“The assessment, in the FCT, where I superintend his mandate, you know that Mr. President has done very, very, well. He’s unprecedented.

“You know the problem we have in this country is that even if you don’t like somebody as a person, the moment he does good things, you should say yes, I’m not in good terms with him, I don’t like him. However, he’s doing well or he has done well.”

The Minister stressed: “Mr. President has done tremendously well and that’s why in every corner of this country, everybody is saying give him that opportunity again. And in the next two years, four years, you’ll see what is going to happen.

“So, I am quite happy with the achievements Mr. President has recorded, particularly as it concerns the Federal Capital Territory. It has never happened before. Yesterday, I said the simple truth: all of us who are critics have said that Abuja was not working, and now Abuja is working.

“Who has made it to work? It’s Mr. President. So, I would only like to concentrate and focus on the assignment that we are solely responsible for. So, Mr. President has done very, very well, I can tell you that.”

When asked the meaning of the four-plus-four chants by FCT residents, Wike said:”four plus four is that Mr. President has done four years, they should give Mr. President another four years. That’s what you mean by four plus four.”

Wike also spoke on the lingering strike by Area Council workers, saying that there were talks toward resolving the impasse.

“So, we have been talking to them (Council chairmen) to understand that. This is democracy, one thing you must know is that denying people education is like trying to say that you are causing a coup in the country or the FCT.

“Be assured that everything is being done to see that the teachers go back to class.

“But go home and sleep very well. Very soon, this problem should be sorted out, regarding the primary school teachers, because nobody can feel happy when the teachers are at home. It is the basic thing that we must do and I can assure you very soon this matter will be resolved.”

The Minister, therefore, made a case for intervention into the matter by the relevant committees of the National Assembly.
