The Commissioner of Police, Federal Capital Territory Command, CP Ajao S. Adewale, psc, mnips, on Thursday, September 25, 2025, held a strategic meeting with Area Commanders, Divisional Police Officers (DPOs), and Tactical Commanders at the Command Headquarters in Abuja.

The meeting reviewed recent operations, evaluated performance, and set fresh security priorities for the FCT ahead of the ember months, political activities, and the forthcoming Independence Day celebrations.

Highlighting operational achievements for the month under review, CP Adewale disclosed that the Command arrested 523 suspects for various offenses, impounded 126 vehicles, rescued three kidnapped victims, neutralized four kidnappers in separate encounters, and recovered six rifles, 48 rounds of ammunition, and 13 stolen vehicles.

He commended the Anti-Kidnapping Unit for foiling attempted kidnappings in Gwagwalada and Karu, stressing that their proactive efforts averted a potential security crisis. The CP also praised the efforts of the Scorpion Squad, Rapid Response Squad (RRS), and divisional teams in Kubwa, Life Camp, Galadimawa, Mpape, Nyanya, Durumi, CP MMU-1, and the Anti-One-Chance Team ‘B’.

Reiterating the importance of community policing, CP Adewale noted the Command’s continued engagements with religious leaders, including the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Miyetti Allah, and other stakeholders.

The Commissioner further directed officers to intensify intelligence-led operations, strengthen community relations, and remain firm, fair, and professional. He warned against unauthorized roadblocks, extortion during enforcement, and other forms of misconduct, reminding officers to remain vigilant and avoid intoxicants while on duty.
