GSS GWARIMPA GETS WAEC STANDARD ICT LAB

The Federal Capital Territory Education sector received a boost with the donation of a well-equipped 20-seat capacity WAEC Standard ICT Laboratory at Government Secondary School, Gwarimpa Estate, from OFON Essentials Global Foundation in collaboration with Rev. Sam Oye.
In his address, the Mandate Secretary for Education, Dr. Danlami Hayyo, described the donation as heartwarming, noting that it encourages further fruitful partnerships towards ensuring quality access to education as a shared responsibility where no one is left behind.
He announced that the FCT Administration, under the leadership of the Hon. Minister, Barr. Nyesom Wike, CON, has earmarked the school for total renovation and provision of infrastructure to give students the best learning and conducive environment, setting the pace in equipping Schools with the necessary tools to compete in the digital age in order to enhance the system and achieve academic excellence.
He commended the NGO and Rev. Sam Oye for their passion and commitment to improving and enhancing the teaching and learning process, adding that their invaluable contributions to FCT schools are noteworthy.
Dr. Hayyo further emphasized the importance of public-private partnerships in advancing education, noting that the event highlights the invaluable role of collaboration in the teaching and learning process.
Speaking earlier, the Chairman of the Occasion, Rev Sam Oye, said Education and Technology play a vital role in the development of a country and its citizenry.
He explained that he is passionate about bridging the gap of underdevelopment and lack of basic amenities in the teaching and learning environment, as well as allowing the less privileged to acquire education.
He expressed his determination to continue to partner with the NGO just as he has achieved with them to intervene in Schools, assuring that more interventions will still come.
In his vote of thanks note, the Director/Secretary, FCT Secondary Education Board, Dr. Sani Ladan, acknowledged the efforts of stakeholders in enhancing the quality of education, reiterating the Board’s commitment to maintaining positive partnerships with like-minded organizations.
In his donor’s remark, Engr. Essien O. Emmanuel, President of OFON Essential Global Foundation, said the donation of the ICT Laboratory is aimed at enhancing students’ learning experiences and preparing them for Computer-Based Tests (CBT) in WAEC and NECO examinations. He commended the guests for their presence and assured them that the facility will further strengthen the organization’s commitment to digital education.
