HAJJ 2026: FCT MUSLIM PILGRIMS WELFARE BOARD RELEASES REVERSED FARE AND FIXES DECEMBER 1st AS NEW DEADLINE FOR PAYMENT

The FCT Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board Abuja has fixed 1st of December, 2025 as deadline for the payment for the 2026 Hajj.
The Board has also released the reversed Hajj fare for 2026 Hajj as released by the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) amounting to Seven Million, Six Hundred and Ninety-Six Thousand, Seven Hundred and Sixty Nine Naira, Seventy Six Kobo (N7,696,769.76k) Only.
Commenting on the reversed Hajj fare, the Director of the Board, Mallam Kadiri Edah stated that Intending Pilgrims who have the intention of performing Hajj through the Board must complete payment before the deadline to book for a seat to be part of the religious journey.
Mallam Edah explained that all payment to the Board must be via a bank draft as no cash transaction would be entertained inline with the policy of transparency.
The Director said the measure would enable the Board compile the actual list of Intending Pilgrims for the exercise and remit all funds to the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) on schedule.
He said the effort by government to reduce the Hajj fare would enable intending pilgrims to discharge their religious obligations.
He explained that government persistence in the reduction of the Hajj fare has saved each intending pilgrim over seven hundred thousand naira to perform the exercise.
Mallam Edah who is in Saudi Arabia stated that the Board would continue to negotiate with service providers in Saudi Arabia for the provision of Feeding and a befitting accommodation in Makkah during the 2026 Hajj.
The negotiation is inline with the desire of the Board to render the best services to FCT contingent to each Hajj in accordance with the desire of the present administration.
