Wike Removes 21 Heads of Agencies

No fewer than 21 heads of parastatals and agencies of the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) have been relieved of their duties with immediate effect.
A statement released Tuesday to the media by the Director of Press in the office of the Minister, Anthony Ogunleye, reads in part: “The Honourable Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Barrister Ezenwo Nyesom Wike CON, has relieved the heads of the following parastatals, agencies and government companies of the FCTA of their appointments with immediate effect”.
The affected heads are Group Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer (GMD/CEO), Abuja Investment Company Ltd; CEO/MD, Abuja Markets Management Ltd; MD/CEO, Abuja Urban Mass Transport Company; as well as the CEOs/MDs of the Abuja Property Development Company; Abuja Technology Village Free Trade Zone Company; Abuja Film Village International; and Abuja Broadcasting Corporation respectively.
Others include the Managing Director (MD), Abuja Enterprise Agency; General Manager, FCT Water Board; Director General, FCT Emergency Management Agency; Executive Secretary, FCT Primary Healthcare Board; Director General, Hospital Management Board; Directors of the Abuja Environmental Protection Board (AEPB); and FCT Scholarship Board.
The rest are Directors of FCT Christian Pilgrims Welfare Board; Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board; FCT Health Insurance Scheme; as well as the Coordinators of the Abuja Infrastructure Investment Center; Satellite Towns Development Department and the Abuja Metropolitan Management Council respectively.
Accordig to the statement, they are to “hand over the affairs of their offices to the most senior officers in rank,” as appointments into the offices would be made in due course.
