FCTA Partners Susan Thompson Buffet Foundation Against Human Papilloma Virus

Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) has flagged off vaccines exercise against Human Papilloma Virus in Abuja.

The exercise, which was in partnership with Susan Thompson Buffet Foundation was launched in Government Secondary School Area 10, Garki – Abuja, and continued at Kuchigoro Primary Health Care Center (PHC).

This official flag off of the vaccination exercises is meant for the grass roots level to ensure access to all level services rendered at FCT Primary Health care centres.

Speaking at the event, the Secretary, Health Services and Environment Secretariat (HSES), Dr. Adedolapo Fasawe, said the FCT Administration appreciates the coming on board of the Susan Thompson Buffet Foundation, considering its track records of free service to humanity.

Her words: “The Foundation gives without expectations and has given to West Africa and now in Nigeria to give, teach, advocate, inform, educate and communicate with our girl child, women and men on our reproductive rights.”

According to her, “Partnership with Susan Buffet Foundation will give FCT an edge to serve as a model to other States by advocating for every girl child to be Vaccinated against the HPV, which causes cervical cancer in women of reproductive age.”

The Coordinating Minister of Health and Social Services, Professor Ali Pate, who was also the flag off, said that President Bola Tinubu’s Administration sees nothing more important than the people and their needs and Health is the key pillar of his Renewed Hope Agenda.

Professor Pate stated that the Federal Ministry of Health under his watch is unwavering to strengthen, empower,educate and protect the women and adolescent girls because they represent the future of this country.

He said that Primary Health Care is a key entry point to manifest this intent.
