FCTA To Strengthen Partnership With USAID

The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA), will strengthen existing partnership with United States Agency for International Development (USAID) for improved healthcare delivery in the FCT.
The new frontiers that will be adequately exploited will be in the area of Health Insurance Scheme in FCT.
The Secretary of Health Services and Environment Secretariat (HSES), Dr. Adedolapo Fasawe, made this revelation during a partnership meeting With USAID Partners in her office.
Some of the partners in the meeting include the Integrated Health Program (IHP), Global Health Supply Chain (GHSC), and Breakthrough Action Nigeria (BAN) among others.
Fasawe called for support to help in increasing the number of enrollees in the FCT Health Insurance Scheme (FHIS), especially pregnant women and children in order to reduce Maternal and Infant Mortality to it’s barest in the FCT.
Secretary also called for USAID support in Advocacy to Sensitize the people of FCT and get them to take advantage of Health Insurance Scheme due to the unprecedented influx of people into the FCT.
Fasawe equally asked for support in training of Desk Officers, who will be deployed to all FCT Hospitals so as to get more people enrolled in the Scheme to access health care services at a subsidized and affordable rates.
According to her, enrolling the vulnerable people is very important and dear to the FCT Administration, because “if the health and of vulnerable people is not taken cared of, it will come back to bite the society,” she said.
The Secretary announced that plans were underway to Digitalize the process to encourage more people to enroll into the Scheme and have access to quality health care services seamlessly.
Similarly, Dr Adewunmi Frances a USAID IHP representative assured of USAID support to sustain and strengthen the partnership.
