Victor Osimhen Wins Serie A Top Player Award

Super Eagles striker, Victor Osimhen has been named winner of the prestigious Serie A Player of the Year award at the Oscar del Calcio AIC ceremony.
The 24-year-old was adjudged the best player after a remarkable year with Napoli in the top flight, leading his team to their first title in 33 years.
He also became the first African player to win the Golden Boot in the Italian league.
Osimhen was also included in the Serie A Team of the Year.
Last season, the Super Eagles star scored 31 goals in 39 games, playing a key role as Napoli reached the quarter-finals of the UEFA Champions League.
Osimhen also made the top 10 for the 2023 Ballon d’Or, which Argentina legend, Lionel Messi ultimately won.
Despite struggles with injuries this season, the Nigerian international remains the favourite to win the 2023 African Player of the Year award.
