Christian Pilgrims Board Trains Staff On Pilgrimage

As the preparation for 2024 Pilgrimage hots up, the FCT Christian Pilgrims Welfare Board has organized a training for its staff on the rituals, planning and execution modern day pilgrimage.

Accordingly, it’s aimed at deepening their knowledge and understanding about the as they guide the pilgrims on the spiritual regeneration journey.

Speaking at the opening session of the training, the Ag. Director, FCT Christian Pilgrims Welfare Board, Mrs. Rahila Isa-Baita, said the intention is to equip welfare staff of the Board with requisite knowledge on the current trends in pilgrimage management in line with global best practices.

According to her, it’s a demonstration of deep commitment to repositioning the Federal Capital Territory Christian Pilgrims Welfare Board, (FCT CPWB), for greater productivity and enhanced service delivery as the 2024 Pilgrimage draws near.

Isa-Baita appreciated the leadership of the FCTA for their unflinching support and guidance in piloting the affairs of the FCT CPWB in preparation for seamless pilgrimage operations in the FCT.

Her words: “Without the support of the FCT Minister and the FCT Minister of State, this induction training would not have been possible. I, therefore, urge every staff to make the most of the training to deepen their knowledge, learn new things in order to effectively manage and take care of pilgrims during pilgrimages in a dynamic global environment.”

The Director said the Board has put measures in place to ensure all intending pilgrims from the FCT are safe and well catered for, in Italy and Greece.

Abuja Digest reports that the four sub themes covered by the training are; the welfare of staff and pilgrims; the significance of pilgrimage in national development; the impact of wrong information on pilgrims and the importance of security during pilgrimage.

Meanwhile, the screening exercise for intending pilgrims is expected to commence soon at the Board’s main auditorium.
