Nigeria’s Super Eagles secured a 2-1 victory over the 10-man Black Stars of Ghana on Friday in a thrilling football encounter from start to finish.
Cyriel Dessers opened the scoring for the Super Eagles with a well-taken penalty, setting the tone for an intense battle on the pitch.
In the face of Ghana’s good run of play, Nigeria extended their lead with a goal from substitute Ademola Lookman, who made a significant impact after coming off the bench.
Lookman’s goal put the Super Eagles in a commanding position after a beautiful build-up play for Finidi George’s men.
Late in the game Jordan Ayew gave Ghana some respite when he converted a penalty which came after a poor foul from Bright Osayi-Samuel.
That however was not enough to stop Nigeria from running away with and boost the Eagles confidence ahead of future games.
