The Coordinator of the Abuja Metropolitan Management Council (AMMC), Felix Obuah, has called for the cooperation of the Staff of the Development Control Department in his efforts to deliver on his mandate.

He made this call during his inaugural interactive session with the staff of the Department in Zone 6, Wise I District, Abuja.

Obuah, who reiterated his commitment to add value and make AMMC better, said he would ensure that staff of the Department work in a conducive environment for maximum productivity.

The Coordinator said that he is open to new ideas and will look into the welfare of staff; adding that he will do everything within his power to motivate the staff.

He noted that adequate office furniture and equipment will be provided to enable staff deliver their duties effectively.

Obuah described himself as a sports man and a team player; noting that periodic sporting events will be introduced to help staff maintain physical and mental fitness, which is key in the discharge of their duties.

Earlier, the Director of Development Control Department, Muktar Galadima, remarked that the Department has been up and doing in the discharge of her responsibilities despite numerous challenges.

The Director stated that the Department has faced a lot of litigations and criticisms by some individuals who do not comply with physical development laws, while some are involved in land grabbing and all sorts of violations.

Galadima lamented that the Department is also faced with inadequate vehicles and other working tools.

He assured that the Department will not be deterred but will continue to work hard to ensure that the dream of having a decent and safe city as conceived by the founding fathers is realized.
