Edo Queens Win WAFU B Champions League

Nigeria’s side Edo Queens defeated Benin’s Ainonvi FC 3-0 in the final of the 2024 West African Football Union (WAFU) B CAF Women’s Champions League, on Friday August 23, at the Stade de La Paix de Bouaké, Cote D’Ivoire.

Edo Queens secured the sub-regional title thanks to three first-half goals and earned the right to represent WAFU B in the continental Championship.

Two goals from Suliat Abideen, Emem Esssien and an own goal by Elizabeth Ukandu sealed victory for the Nigerian side.

Edo Queens now replace Ghana’s Amepm Darkoa Ladies as WAFU B representatives in the CAF Women’s Champions League which comes up later this year.
