Don’t Bully Students, Pupils; FCTA Warns Teachers

The authorities of the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) have warned Teachers and Students in the FCTA schools to desist from the attitudes of bullying pupils and students.
Accordingly, the warning may not be unconnected with the efforts of the Administration to ensuring a conducive learning environment for every child in school.
The Mandate Secretary for Education, FCTA, Dr. Danlami Hayyo, gave this warning while unveiling three publications in Abuja, namely: Bullying in the FCT Secondary Schools; Safety, Security and Violence Free Schools (SSVFS); and Implementation Guidelines Strategic Education Sector Plan (SESP).
Hayyo commended the Department of Policy, Planning, Research and Statistics (DPPRS), for taking such proactive measure, which is in line with the ‘Renewed Hope Agenda’ of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Administration, towards ensuring provision of quality education.
The Mandate Secretary, who was represented by the Director of Higher Education, Mr. Siyanbola Olawale, said that three publications being unveiled are aimed at tackling bullying and other related issues in FCT schools.
He said that the three newly unveiled publications contains information about the implications of bullying, which is an act of wickedness to whoever becomes a victim to the callous act.
Hayyo said these publications will serve as important tools in curtailing the mess of bullying and other related issues.
He said that the unveiling of these publications and applying their insights and recommendations to teaching and learning is a step in the right direction and in tandem with keeping abreast emerging issues in education.
