FCTA Calls For Staff Dedication, Commitment in Service Delivery

Authorities of the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA), has called on its staff to be more dedicated, committed and zealous for improved service delivery.

Accordingly, the call is aimed to ensure efficiency in productivity, achieve set objectives and to promote a culture of diligence and responsibility within the Education Secretariat and the FCT Administration as a whole.

The Permanent Secretary, FCT Education Secretariat, Mrs. Joy Okeke, made the call in Abuja during an inspection tour of offices and units around the Secretariat.

Okeke, who urged staff to remain committed to their duties and ensure punctuality and being responsible in discharging their primary duties, also advised that staff should always ensure prompt movement of files and avoid delay.

Her words: “I urge us to be punctual and dedicated in discharging our duties. Don’t procrastinate any work that needs to be done, especially when you need to treat files. Remember, we must remain committed to contributing to the development of the education sector.”

She commended staff for their tireless efforts in achieving the education sector’s mandate and solicited their continued support; saying that she is committed to addressing the challenges and complaints of the staff.

According to her: “after going round the various Units of the Secretariat, I am impressed with the staff turnout. I commend all, who have been working tirelessly to achieve our mandate and I urge you to continue to support the administration by playing your part.”

“We have noted the challenges from some Units, and we will ensure that they are taken care of to maintain efficiency from all quarters.” She added.

Okeke revealed that, similar tours would be carried out more often to familiarize with the environment, so as to jointly work together to achieve the Secretariat’s Mandate.

Speaking on behalf of the staff, the Secretary to the Mandate Secretary of the Secretariat, Sanusi Aminu Aliyu, said the tour carried out by the Permanent Secretary is well appreciated and commendable.

Aliyu said the inspection tour by the Permanent Secretary is going to bridge gaps and also create a bond between the Permanent Secretary and the staff, and this will go a long way in improving the working relationship between the staff and the Permanent Secretary.
