FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, has said that the ‘Renewed Hope Agenda’ of President Bola Tinubu was delivering good governance to FCT residents.
Wike stated this on Tuesday, while speaking to journalists after inspection of the construction of the 5-kilometre Saburi-Dei Dei road.
The Minister stated that the people were getting good governance, saying: “When you say good governance, provision of infrastructure and other things are all inclusive, providing security is also good governance, making sure that people have quality education is also good governance, being transparent is also part of good governance.”
Asked about his assessment and feelings about work done on the project, the Minister said that government was happy because the people, especially FCT residents, were happy and appreciative of what President Tinubu was doing for them.
Wike, however, appealed for patience and support to the President; assuring that this would be better.
The Minister revealed that though the contractor has assured that the road would be ready this December, he hinted at a possible delay arising from a new bridge which was not initially part of the original road design, which might pose a challenge to 100 percent completion of the road project by December.
He explained that the initially designated culvert had to be changed to a bridge, particularly following a flooding experience that swept the area during the rainy season.
Speaking on the 17 km Dei Die-Life Camp road, the Minister said that procurement process was already 80 percent completed.
He added that the Bureau of Public Procurement was being awaited for issuance of the Certificate of No Objection, before approval of the Federal Executive Council (FEC) would be sought for contract award.
