The Federal Capital Territory Administration will do everything within its power to complete designated rural roads across the Federal Capital Territory by December 2024.

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, gave this assurance, after inspection tour of work on the resurfacing of the Dutse-Bwari road; 25-kilometre Kwaita-Yebu, and the 11-kilometre Yangoji-Sukuku-Eba road projects in Kwali Area Council, Wednesday.

The Minister expressed optimism that most of the rural projects scheduled for completion in December would be completed as scheduled.

His words: “We are still working on December. I don’t want to say that the roads will not be completed. I believe, like they said, they will hand it over to us in December. Let us keep to it. I don’t want to be pessimistic…..in as much as we do our own part, I’m sure they will also fulfill their own promise.”

The Minister, who thanked God for making the ‘Renewed Hope Agenda’ “alive and working” in the FCT, said that he was impressed with the work of the contractors handling all the projects.

He pledged to ensure uninterrupted funding of the projects, especially as the contractors have shown commitment to completing the road projects; adding that his aim was to make the residents happy.

Wike reiterated commitment of his Administration to impacting all areas in the FCT; saying: “Like I said before, all areas in Abuja, be it the city, be it the satellite towns, will all have the impact of this government.”
