2025 HAJJ: FCTA Begins Sensitisation Exercise

The Federal Capital Territory Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board (FCT-MPWB) has commenced a sensitisation campaign across the FCT with the aim of enlightening the Muslim Ummah, particularly prospective pilgrims on the need for early registration for the forth coming 2025 Hajj exercise.
The Board had earlier announced the commencement of the registration for 2025 Hajj exercise in September for intending pilgrims, who wish to perform the next year’s Hajj through the Board and urged intending pilgrims to deposit a minimum of N8,400,000 (Eight Million and Four Hundred Thousand Naira) only.
Director of the Board, Malam Kadiri Edah, who was at the Palace of Ona of Abaji for the campaign, said that the sensitisation train was at the Palace considering the status of His Royal Majesty as the Chairman of the Council of Chiefs and Traditional Rulers in the FCT, as well as a father to the Board, being the Chief Custodian of Islamic culture in the Territory.
Edah, said the registration for the exercise has commenced; adding that issuance of visas would commence in February next year, while the airlift will begin in April 2025.
He stated that early registration is necessary to enable the Board make necessary preparations on time to avoid late hour rushing.
His words: “We are here to interact with you and to inform you, being our leader and father in the FCT of our activities and programmes for 2025 Hajj exercise and the need to sensitize your subjects, particularly the intending pilgrims, on the importance of early registration for Hajj, so that we can prepare early for the onerous task ahead of us”.
He urged stakeholders to assist and support the programmes of the Board by taking the sensitization campaign to the grassroots so as to reach the prospective pilgrims to enable them participate actively in the exercise.
Earlier, the Ona of Abaji, represented by the Madaki of Abaji, Alhaji Abdullahi Ibrahim, commended the Board for commencing the campaign tour on time.
Other places visited by the team included Kwali and Gwagwalada Area Councils. as well as the Immigration Command in Gwagwalada.
Abuja Digest reports that the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has given the FCT Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board over 4,000 Hajj slots for the 2025 Hajj exercise.
Meanwhile, the Board has re-introduced Umrah programme for FCT residents which h would commence next year.
