The FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, has flagged-off construction of the 10.5 kilometre-Kabusa-Ketti access road.

Performing the ceremony, Wednesday, in Ketti, the Minister restated that construction of roads in the rural areas was part of President Bola Tinubu’s ‘Renewed Hope Agenda’ of not concentrating efforts in developing only the City Centre.

He told residents of the community who came out in large numbers to welcome him that government was aware of their pains and was there to take care of them and rekindle their hope.

Like he did while flagging off 9.5km Kabusa-Takushara road yesterday, the Minister assured that the road would be completed “before or during the second anniversary of Mr. President.”,

Wike urged contractor handling the project to employ members of the community and give them sub-contracts to make supplies and make money to take care of their families.

The Minister also approved provision of a Secondary School to be located in Ketti community.

His words: “We have to come to tell you that we know what you face and we feel your pains; and we are here to solve your problems. That is what Mr. President has sent us to come and do.”

“Part of the promises he made was that, he was going to provide access roads to our people to reduce the pains, that will make our farmers go back to farm, that will make sure that insecurity will be reduced,” he said.

“Mr. President has come through me to fulfill the promise he has made. Look at all the Area Councils, it has never happened. We are now going to dualize Kuje to Gwagwalada road; we have already dualized the one in Kuje: -go there in the night, you will see the street lights working,” Wike restated.

The Minister emphasized that by the time the on-going dualization of the Airport-Kuje road is completed, travel time from there to town would be reduced to 15 minutes, making it easy for people to live in Kuje and work in the city.
