We Must Work Together For Success Of FCTA, Director Info. Tells MPWB

The Director of Information and Communication, Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA), Muhammad Hazat Sule, has stressed the need for all Secretariats, Departments and Agencies (SDAs), of the FCT Administration to synergize to deliver quality services to the residents of the FCT.

The Director said the FCT Administration is a one big family that must work together towards achieving set goals of rendering unhindered services to the people in line with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s ‘Renewed Hope Agemda’, as being implemented by the FCT Minister, Barr. Nyesom Wike.

Sule, who stated this while receiving the delegation of the management staff of the FCT Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board (FCT-MPWB), Tuesday, in his office, insisted that all organs of the FCT Administration must work together and support the leadership of the Administration led by the Minister, Nyesom Wike, to successfully achieve the mandate of the President in improving the living standard of FCT residents.

He opined that, the FCT Administration has many Agencies with different visions and missions, but should work as one towards improving the security, socio-economic lives of the people and infrastructural development of the Territory.

Sule, who assured the MPWB of maximum support in the reportage of the activities of the Board, noted that the Muslim Pilgrims Board has the responsibility of catering for the needs of all Pilgrims.

According to him, the job and duties of the Board are performed on behalf of the FCTA, and the Department of Information and Communication must give the Board the necessary coverage to succeed.

He observed that the responsibility of the Board requires lots of publicly, because they are working for the public and as such dealing with all manners of people; including highly influential, semi informed and those at the grassroots; saying that this makes the Board working with the Information Department and Communication necessary.

Sule, therefore, assured the delegation of his full support at all times in the interest of the the FCT Administration.

He commended the delegation for the working visit and used the opportunity to congratulate the newly appointed Director of MPWB, Malam Kadiri Edah, who he described as properly suited for the position.

He urged the Board to discharge their duties with the fear of God.

Earlier, leader of the delegation and Director of the Board, Malam Kadiri Edah, sought for more synergy between the Board and the Department; adding that as the Board has begun the sensitization and awareness campaign for the 2025 intending Pilgrims.

The Director, who was represented at the occasion by the Deputy Director, Operations, (FCT-MPWB), Hajiya Shade Sherifat Olumoh, disclosed that the Board has since commenced the collection of the sum of Eight Million, Four Hundred Thousand Naira (N8.4m) as an initial deposit to be paid by all intending Pilgrims for the forthcoming 2025 Pilgrimage (Hajj).

The Director also revealed that the Board is set to re-introduce the Umrah (Lesser Hajj) Operations during the forthcoming month of Ramadan; saying that sensitization for the exercise as well as the awareness campaign is necessary to ensure that no Muslim Faithful is left unaware of the exercise.

Edah also disclosed that the Board has commenced refund of money paid by the Pilgrims on services not rendered by the Saudi Arabia authorities.

According her, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia returned the money to the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria, to refund to all those who participated in 2023 Hajj exercise.

He commended the Director of Information and Communication and the management team of the Department for the massive support extended to the Board, especially in the area of publicity which has made the work easier.

The Director was full of praises for Sule, whom he described as smart, coordinated, result oriented and accommodating; emphasizing that the leadership style of Information Director is worth emulating.
