The Federal Capital Territory Christian Pilgrims Welfare Board (FCT-CPWB) has charged residents of the nation’s capital to prioritize the services of humanity and benevolence to the needy, especially the Orphans and aged persons.

Accordingly, the call is aimed at ensuring that needy feel sense of belonging and create in them an impression that their relevance in the society is equivalent to any other personality in the society.

The Director of FCT-CPWB, Mrs. Gloria Dandam, made the call while addressing the Staff of the Board during thanksgiving and celebration of the end-of-year Christmas Carol Service held at the Board’s Headquarters, Abuja.

Dandam, who donated some food items as well as little token, in form of cash to each of the Orphans at the ‘City of David Orphanage’, Durumi, Abuja, stressed that, government job is all about service to humanity and when humanity is subtracted from it, it renders the service worthless and irrelevant.

The Director, therefore, charged the staff to always have it as a priority that the service in which they are rendering is a service of benevolence that must be handled appropriately; adding that people that God has placed on position to render service to humanity must certainly give an account of how, where and when they do it.

Dandam, who used the opportunity to visit the ‘City of David Orphanage’ at Durumi District accompanied by Staff, extended the hand of love to the orphans by donating items as: beverages, seasoning, cooking oil, toiletries, Indomie noodles, and some cash token.

She revealed that the donations were made possible by the Staff of the Board through offerings received during the Board’s Monday meetings, which reflect the Board’s continued commitment to social responsibility and community welfare.

The Director also used the opportunity to express profound gratitude to God for His faithfulness, thanked the FCT Minister, Barr. Nyesom Wike, and the Minister of State, Dr. Mariya Mahmoud, as well as the staff of the Board for the massive support given to ensure the progress of the Board.

Speaking with the team led by the Director of FCT-CPWB, the caretaker of the Orphanage, Madam Grace Azuka, submitted that, the kind gesture of the Christian Board extended to the Orphans, is highly appreciated and God who gives will repay in abundance.

Azuka, who commended the Director of the CPWB and her team used the opportunity to call on other philanthropists in the FCT and beyond to come to the aid of the Orphans, especially during this difficult time that we are in.
