FCTA To Continue Prioritizing Education

The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) will continue to prioritize development of the education sector to improve the literacy rate of the residents, especially those at the rural communities.

Mandate Secretary, Education Secretariat, Dr. Danlami Hayyo, stated this while receiving a prestigious award by Forensic Guards Nigeria in Abuja, Friday.

The Mandate Secretary said that the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, is putting education in its rightful position because the sector remains the bedrock of development of any society.

The Mandate Secretary, while appreciating the honour done to him, assured that education sector will continue to be given the desired attention.

Hayyo reiterated his commitment to keep supporting initiatives that promote quality education and empower young people in the FCT, particularly as it concerns developing new and improved educational systems for the benefit of students.

He said that the Education Secretariat under his watch will sustain the policies and programmes of the Minister in tune with the ‘Renewed Hope Agenda’ of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Speaking at the brief ceremony, Ambassador Wada Ilemona Haruna, said the Forensic Guards of Nigeria in collaboration with Forensic Ambassadors Africa decided to honour the FCT Education Secretary to celebrate his outstanding contributions to promoting forensic awareness in the education sector in the Nation’s Capital.

The award is to acknowledge his tireless efforts in promoting forensic education and awareness among FCT students.

According to him, “the Mandate Secretary’s dedication to the cause of forensic education has been instrumental in the successful establishment of the Forensic Club, which will soon be domesticated in FCT schools”.

“Our mission is to inspire a new generation of young forensic enthusiasts,” he added.

He explained that the Forensic Clubs, initiated by Forensic Guards Nigeria and Forensic Ambassadors Africa, is aimed at providing students with hands-on experience in forensic science, promoting vigilance, safety, security, problem-solving, and analytical skills.

His words: “Where a Policeman cannot get to, students can, and they will be able to give valuable information that will promote security and cub criminal activities.”

He noted that the Forensic Clubs initiative is designed to inspire a new generation of young forensic enthusiasts.
