FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, commissioned the 5km Naharati-River Ukya-Unguwan Hausawa Road in Abaji Area Council, Abuja.
During the commissioning ceremony on Monday, the Minister expressed gratitude to President Bola Tinubu for his visionary leadership and for impacting the lives of residents in the communities by renewing their hope.
Wike said that he was glad to see the people happy because promises made were being fulfilled; recalling that the project was flagged off last January and commissioned this January.
The Minister reiterated commitment of the Administration to tackling security challenges in Abaji through establishment of two Police Divisions, expected to be completed within few months.
On his part, the FCT Minister of State, Dr. Mariya Mahmoud, underscored the importance of rural infrastructure in driving economic growth and improving the livelihoods of rural residents.
She stated that the road would facilitate connectivity, harmony, stimulate local economies, and create opportunities for rural producers.
Her words: “Improved road networks like this one to connect rural producers to markets, enabling them to sell goods at fair prices and access essential services. To get the FCT of our dreams, we must first strengthen its roots, and our roots are the Area Councils, Satellite Towns, and villages”.
The Minister of State lauded Wike’s leadership style and dedication to delivering impactful projects in record time.
