FG Invests Over ₦300Bn On Abuja Infrastructure

The Federal Government under the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has expended over ₦300 billion in infrastructural development of the six Area Councils of the Federal Capital Territory.
The FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, disclosed this while commissioning the 19 kilometre Paikon kore-Ibwa road in Abuja, Wednesday.
Wike revealed that over ₦22 billion has been committed to construction of the Gwagwalada market-Aguma Palace Road and other critical infrastructure in the Council.
His words: “Mr. President is not only focused on developing Abuja city but also the Satellite Towns. This road alone (19 kilometres road in Paikon-kore- Ibwa) received ₦8.5 billion, demonstrating his commitment to equitable development.”
The Minister further revealed that the renovation of five Secondary Schools in Gwagwalada, including the School for the Gifted and Government Secondary School, Giri, was valued at ₦16.5 billion.
He directed the Satellite Town Development Department (STDD) to give priority attention to the construction of a bridge in Gwagwalada in 2025 statutory budget.
“This bridge is vital for the community, and I assure you it will be captured in the next budget”, Wike assured.
Acknowledging National Assembly support in the development of the FCT, the Minister solicited support of the people for Tinubu’s administration.
Earlier, FCT Minister of State, Dr. Mariya Mahmoud, commended the government for prioritizing infrastructural projects that could foster connectivity and economic growth.
She highlighted the significance of the road in enhancing mobility and boosting the economy.
The Minister of State the stakeholders for the collaborative efforts, and urged residents to protect all public facilities within their domains.
