FCT Police Arrest 8, Seize Drugs & Firearms In Massive Raid

The FCT Police Command has arrested eight suspects criminals in a coordinated raids on notorious black spots across the Territory.
This was made known to newsmen in a Press Release signed by the Police Public Relations Officer,
FCT Command, SP Josephine Adeh.
The statement remarked that the operation, which took place on January 23, 2025, was carried out by operatives of the Anti-Narcotics Unit, targeting areas known to be hubs for the sale and consumption of illicit substances.
According to the statement, the raids covered four key locations: SDP Junction in Gwagwalada, Lugbe Federal Housing by Tipper Garage, Wuse Zone 5 by Access Bank, and AYA Roundabout.
The statement added, “As police operatives descended upon these areas, suspects attempted to flee, but were swiftly pursued and apprehended.”
“The operation yielded significant results, with eight suspects arrested and a cache of illicit items seized; including 100 rounds of live 7.62 x 39mm ammunition, a large quantity of dried leaves suspected to be cannabis, and a substantial amount of encapsulated illicit drugs,” the statement explained.
The statement said that the crackdown on illicit drug activities demonstrates the FCT Police Command’s unwavering commitment to ensuring the safety and well-being of residents.
It reiterated that the Command remains resolute in its fight against the menace of illicit drugs, and this operation serves as a testament to its dedication to protecting the community.
