Fire Guts ICT Unit of FCTA

A minor fire incident occurred at the server room of the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Unit of the Federal Capital Territory Administration ( FCTA).
The incident, which happened at about 8 pm after the workers at the Secretariat closed for the day was as a result of an electric power surge.

A statement from the Director of Information and Communication, FCT, Muhammad Hazat Sule, indicated that the incident, which partially affected the server room was immediately contained by the men of the FCT Fire Service, Federal Fire Service, and the security men on duty, after about 13 minutes, and 45 seconds of collective efforts.

The statement stated that the FCT Administration assures the public and its clientele that the incident will not in any way interfere with its daily operations as there exists adequate redundancy.

It further stated that there is no cause for alarm as the incident will not in any way hinder the smooth operations of the ICT Unit or any function of the Administration.

The Administration commended the gallant officers of the FCT Fire Service and the Federal Fire Service officials for their prompt response and action.
