Improve Service Delivery: FCTA Inducts Schools Desk Officers

Determined to improve service delivery in its schools, the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) has inducted new Desk Officers in each of the schools.
The induction ceremony attended by the FCT Head of Service, Dr. Samuel Atang, among other key stakeholders, was said to mark a crucial milestone in the administration’s efforts to transform the FCT into a globally competitive city.
In his remarks, Atang emphasized the critical role the new Desk Officers would play in realizing the vision of providing educational services to a World-class capital city as they remain at the forefront of improving services within FCT schools.
Tasking the Desk Officers on commitment, dedication and excellence in service delivery, the Head of Service restated the Administration’s commitment to recognizing and rewarding hard work and excellence.
Also speaking at the event, the National Coordinator/CEO of SERVICOM, Nnenna Akajemeli, emphasized the importance of continuous capacity building and urged the FCT management to fully support the service improvement process in schools.
Akajemeli called for regular training and retraining of staff to ensure sustained service quality and effective management of customer experiences.
Permanent Secretary, FCT Education Secretariat, Mr. Ibe Prospect Chukwuemeka, in his remarks, described the induction as a milestone in the ongoing effort to elevate the quality of education in the FCT.
He called on the inductees to uphold the principles of accountability, transparency, courtesy, and integrity.
Earlier, Director in the Office of the Head of the Civil Service and Nodal Officer MSU, FCT, Funmilayo Kayode, underscored the role of the Desk Officers in advancing educational service delivery.
Kayode stated that the induction was part of FCT Administration efforts in ensuring the FCT ranked among the top 20 best cities in the World.
She charged them with the responsibility of enhancing the educational framework to meet and exceed community and government expectations.
