FCTA Trains Teachers On Entrepreneurship

The Federal Capital Territory Administration has launched an educational transformation programme for teachers to learn more on entrepreneurship and innovation.
The two-day training programme was organized to enable teachers learn new skills entrepreneurship and innovation.
Declaring the programme opened at Government Science Secondary School, Maitama, Pyakkasa, the Mandate Secretary, Education Secretatiat, Dr. Danlami Hayyo, expressed the urgent need to reform traditional education systems to meet the demands of the 21st century.
Represented by the Permanent Secretary, Education Secretariat, Mrs. Joy Okeke, noted that the World, currently driven by the Fourth Industrial Revolution, requires learners who are innovative, adaptable, and entrepreneurial.
He explained that the FCT Administration is reimagining education to produce students who can think independently, create confidently, and compete globally.
Hayyo added, “To achieve this vision, we must first empower our teachers, the bedrock of our educational system.”
He expressed gratitude to the FCT Minister, Ezenwo Nyesom Wike, for his visionary leadership and taking the Education Sector to an enviable height in FCT.
Hayyo commended the Directors under the FCT Education Secretariat, international partners from Brunel University Business School, United Kingdom, and the Nigeria-Brunel Innovation Team for their unwavering support in making the programme a reality.
He urged the Teachers to approach the training with openness and enthusiasm; stressing that the future of FCT students rests largely in their hands.
Also speaking in the same vein,the Permanent Secretary, Education represented by Hajia Hajara Alayande, described the training as a transformational initiative designed to reshape education in the FCT.
She emphasized the need to empower students through innovative teaching methods, preparing them early to become critical thinkers and future entrepreneurs.
Welcoming the Participants, the Director Department of Science Technology and Innovation, Mr. Kolawole Olobashola, said Capacity Building is key to continuous learning process, which will enhance their abilities to perform creditably in their various schools.
