SCHOOL PRINCIPAL CHARGES STUDENTS ON PURPOSEFUL LIVING

The Principal of the Model Secondary School, Maitama, Dr. Irewole Judith Olure, has called on students of the Institution to embrace purposeful living to achieve great success in life.
The principal made the call in her welcome address during the school’s graduation ceremony held recently in Abuja in honour of the Class of 2025, with the theme, ‘Dare to Dream, Destined to Lead’.
She congratulated the students on completing their senior secondary school, describing it as the foundation for future academic and life exploits, adding that the graduation ceremony marked not just the conclusion of an academic journey but the commencement of new and exciting chapters
She urged them to remain morally upright and pursue their dreams with boldness and purpose, adding that they are models destined to lead. Just as she charged them to dream big, dream right, and stay focused.
Dr. Olure further stated that the school has nurtured students to think critically, act responsibly, and live purposefully, both in knowledge and character. She asked them to carry with them the values of the school, which are discipline, diligence, and the desire to make a difference.
In her keynote address, the Guest Speaker, Dr. Margaret Adeyeye, who represented the Director/Secretary, FCT Secondary Education Board, highlighted the importance of having dreams and working intentionally to achieve them. She encouraged them to remain resilient, disciplined, and visionary.
Speaking in their various capacities as headboy and headgirl, David Adeoye and Zanjamila Muhammad, respectively, expressed their appreciation to the school for training them not only towards achieving academic success but also sound morals with attention to their well-being. They assured the School Authority that they will not disappoint them while advising fellow graduates to bear in mind that they are ambassadors of the school, calling on them to keep flying the school flag higher.
The Parents of the graduating students expressed their appreciation to the school management for the discipline and diligence inculcated in their wards, promising to ensure they do not deviate from the values.
The highlights of the colourful and well-attended event were the formal presentation of certificates of responsibility and awards to the school prefects, as well as the best graduating students.
Awards were also extended to students with outstanding performances in various subjects. Also honoured were the PTA and some other dignitaries. The well-organised graduation ceremony marked a significant milestone featuring colourful programmes such as procession of the graduands, cultural dances, special rendition, and cutting of the graduation cake
