AUMTCO introduces POS ticketing system

To ensure improvement in service delivery and make transportation easier for residents of Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja Urban Mass Transport Company Limited (AUMTCO) has commenced the first phase of its e-ticketing system with the launch of (Point of Sale) POS system.

This is aimed at automating the firm’s processes which will  have the company gradually migrate to the cashless policy of government.

Head, Monitoring, Marketing and Communication Department, AUMTCO, Mr. Tunde Akintola, who disclosed this appealed to passengers to always be at alert and collect their POS ticket at loading point before boarding the buses.

Akintola also enjoined them to keep the ticket while still in transit till they reach their destination to enable checkers validate same and avoid delays and embarrassment.

He urged passengers to cooperate with the company as the new model and devices are geared towards excellent service delivery in tandem with global best practices, adding that over the next couple of months other innovations will be unveiled.

Akintola called on passengers to encourage the company by sending feedback when necessary, saying by so doing, the firm will note the defaults in services and work on such.

He commended FCT Administration (FCTA) for the interest and passion it has shown in the mass transport system while he pleaded for the provision of adequate bus terminals and enforcement of existing transport regulations in the Territory.
