Meanwhile, Dr. Fasawe subsequently handed the ambulances over to the Director General of the FCT Hospital Management Board, Dr. Ahmadu Abubakar for onward distribution to the benefiting hospitals.

The formal handover to the beneficiary institutions was conducted by Dr. Ringim Alihu Mohammad, Head of Medical Services.

In his remarks, he urged the hospital management teams to ensure that the ambulances are properly maintained and used strictly for the purposes for which they were procured, emphasizing on the swift evacuation and transportation of patients in need of urgent medical attention.

Abuja Digest reports that twelve General hospitals in the FCT, which benefited from this distribution include Kubwa, Bwari, Rubochi, Karshi, Kwali, Gwarimpa, Karu, Nyanya, Asokoro, Abaji, Kuje and Zuba.

These had been without functional ambulances, limiting their capacity to provide prompt emergency response and patient transfers within their respective communities. The new vehicles are expected to significantly enhance emergency medical services and improve healthcare delivery in the territory.
