Abuja Digest  Staff Commiserates with Director Information over Mother’s Death

The Director, Department of Information and Communication, Federal Capital Territory Administration  (FCTA), Muhammad Hazat Sule, yesterday received members of staff of Abuja Digest Newspaper, a  Publication of the FCTA, who visited him at his Gwarinpa Residence to condole him over the death of his mother,  Hajiya Hajara Suleiman, who passed on recently.

Earlier, some staff led by the Assistant Director of Administration in the Department, Ms. Aina Gbemisola had visited his country home in Lapai, Lapai, Local Government Area of Niger State to commiserate with the family.

The two delegations comprised two Deputy Directors, two Assistant Directors, the Head of Marketing, and other Senior and Junior Staff of the Department.

Meanwhile, Yesterday’s delegation which was led by the Deputy Director of Information, Mrs. Josie Mudasiru, arrived at about 2 pm and offered Muslim and Christian Prayers for the repose of Mama’s soul.

While presenting her condolence message on behalf of the staff of the Newspaper, the Head of Administration, Ms. Aina Gbemisola said the visit was to commiserate with the Director over the death of his mother and wish him the fortitude to bear the loss. 

She described the loss of Mama as ‘painful’ and prayed to God to grant her Eternal Rest in Paradise. 

Responding, the Director,  Muhammad Hazat Sule, thanked the staff for visiting him during his moment of grief. He described his late mother,  Hajiya Hajara Suleiman as a true mother who was very caring and close to him throughout her life. 

“I used to make sure I visit her at home, both in Lapai and  Minna almost every weekend.  Even when I was Chief Press Secretary to the Hon. Ministers, I would always ensure I made out time to visit her no matter how tight I might be. The good thing was that during those times my vehicle hardly broke down and wherever it developed any issue, there was always someone nearby,  to help”.

He advised staff whose parents are still alive to always make out time for them in appreciation of their sacrifices. 

He said on each of those visits, he enjoyed close conversations with his mom into the night. 

According to the Director, Mama lived a worthy and fulfilled life through her Islamic Faith. 

Earlier,  the Deputy Director of Information and Head of the delegation, Mrs. Josie Mudasiru eulogized the ‘motherly’ love displayed by the Director’s wife, Hajiya Hauwa,  by supporting and encouraging the husband to regularly attend to his mother until she breathed her last breath. Mrs. Mudasiru thanked God for the cordiality the family enjoyed with the late Mama Hajara. 

Also speaking, the Head of Marketing of Abuja Digest Newspaper, Mr. Jide Abdullazeez thanked God for the worthy life lived by Mama, saying that death is a  mandatory Journey each one must make in the end. 

He offered prayers for the repose of the Soul of the Director’s Mum. 

In a short eulogy, the Director’s wife Hajiya Hauwa, who was also on hand to receive the delegation,  said Mama will be greatly missed for her affectionate and motherly presence which she said, ‘no one can replace.

Hajiya Hajara Suleiman, 

passed away on Thursday, January 26, 2023, and was buried in Lapai, Niger State,   according to Islamic rites.

 Hajiya Hajara died at the age of 81.

She will also be remembered for her benevolence.
