The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Barrister Nyesom Wike, has hailed the transformational landscape of the nation’s capital.

Wike, who made the commendation on Tuesday, 3rd February, while speaking to journalists after inspecting ongoing projects in the FCT, declared that President Bola Tinubu’s administration has fundamentally altered the city’s landscape.

The Minister expressed high satisfaction with the pace and quality of work, specifically highlighting the Outer Southern Expressway (OSEX) and the Apo-Wassa road network.

He began the project tour in Gishiri, where he noted that the road network is slated for inauguration within President Tinubu’s third year in office.

Wike also inspected the OSEX-Ring Road I, including the bridge construction, as well as the Apo-Wassa sector—a critical hub intended for Apo traders.

His words: “I am quite impressed by this initiative. We are handling three major jobs. These are expected to be completed, I hope, by August, while the work in the OSEX area will be delivered as part of the third-year anniversary,” Wike stated.

Reflecting on the FCT’s 50th Anniversary (February 3, 2026), Wike emphasized that the recent infrastructure push is more than just a celebration.

“Over the past three years-and this isn’t merely a Golden Jubilee celebration—the President’s tenure has changed the landscape of the FCT,” the Minister remarked, adding that all works strictly adhere to the Abuja Master Plan.

Meanwhile, addressing the recent industrial action by the Joint Unions Action Committee (JUAC), Wike dismissed claims of a “setback,” saying that “At the end of the day, there is no winner or loser; this is about the interests of the FCT and its continued progress.”

He, however, stressed that union leadership had seen the reality of the progress firsthand, clearing up misconceptions.
