AMMC CELEBRATES NAZIRU ISA AT COLOURFUL VALEDICTORY NIGHT

Staff and management of the Abuja Metropolitan Management Council (AMMC) have honoured the Director of Finance and Accounts, Naziru Isa, with a colourful valedictory night as he retired from the civil service after attaining the statutory retirement age.
The event, marked by tributes, laughter, and fond recollections, celebrated Isa’s years of dedicated service and his contributions to the council’s financial administration.
Coordinator of AMMC, Felix Amechi Obuah, who presided over the ceremony, appreciated Isa for his contributions to AMMC’s growth over the years and prayed God to grant him open doors at he retires.
His words: “As you retire, may God open new doors, grant you abundance, good health, and may the knowledge you’ve shared continue to inspire others. May you soon be called to greater heights.”
Among dignitaries present were the Director of Information and Communication in the council, Mrs. Uche Obi, who served as the Master of Ceremony, Permanent Secretary of the Treasury Department of the FCTA, Mr. Adamu Wanke; the Director of Finance and Accounts, Satellite Town Development Department (STDD); the Director of Development Control, Dr. TPL Sanusi Bashir Madaki; the Overseeing Director of Administration, AMMC, Mr. Wasiu Buhari; as well as several other senior officials and staff members of the administration.
Speakers at the event described Isa as a diligent and result-oriented officer whose commitment, professionalism, and meticulous approach to duty left a lasting impact on the organisation.
In his remarks, Wanke commended the retiring director’s work ethic, describing him as a highly efficient officer who approached tasks with remarkable speed and dedication.
“If you are not fast enough, he will move ahead,” Wanke said, highlighting Isa’s energetic approach to service delivery.
Colleagues who worked closely with the retiring director also praised his mentorship and willingness to share knowledge, noting that he consistently guided younger staff members and contributed to their professional growth.
The celebration featured cultural entertainment, including a performance by a dance troupe, while guests were treated to refreshments throughout the evening.
A major highlight of the event was the presentation of gifts by various departments within the AMMC to the retiring director in appreciation of his years of service.
In his response, Isa expressed gratitude to the AMMC coordinator, colleagues, and guests for the honour accorded him. He also sought forgiveness from anyone he may have offended, knowingly or unknowingly, during his time in office.
The event concluded with prayers offered by the Director of Urban Affairs, Mrs. Yemitan, and the Director of Finance and Accounts, Satellite Town Development Area (STDA), Mr. Illiyasu Bello.
