The Director noted that the role of the press is key and of great importance to national development; stressing that press is the vehicle through which government policies and actions are brought to the door step of the citizenry.

His words: ”Without the press nobody will know what Development Control is doing, we are going to partner with you, especially during the press week and use the platform to showcase what Development Control is doing towards delivering on its mandate.”

The Director commended Information Officers of the Department for their relentless efforts in projecting the image of the organization despite limited resources.

He promised to improve the working condition of his Department Information Officers.

Earlier, the chairperson of the union thanked the Director for sustaining Abuja Master Plan with his team of professionals who assiduously work to keep the dream of the founding fathers of Abuja alive.

Ufumba described the reduction in building collapse in FCT as laudable effort by the Director, who took the initiative of setting up a special committee for prevention of building collapse in the FCT, with a responsibility to proffer modalities and institutional frame work to avert building collapse.

She observed that the Department of Development Control has maintained that the right thing should be done, building plans must meet the required standards and approval granted before any physical development.
