Novak Djokovic reached another milestone in his legendary tennis career on Monday at the French Open. The Serbian star defeated British player Cameron Norrie in straight sets on Court Philippe Chatrier to move into the quarterfinals. Djokovic won the match with ease, finishing 6-2, 6-3, 6-2.
With the victory, Djokovic secured his 19th quarterfinal appearance at Roland-Garros, setting a new record for most quarterfinals reached at a single Grand Slam tournament.
This win was also his 100th career match victory at the French Open, making him only the second player in history to achieve that feat. He now joins Rafael Nadal, who holds a record 14 French Open titles and an incredible 112-4 record on the Paris clay. Djokovic now stands at 100-16 at the tournament, with three titles to his name.
The official French Open social media pages celebrated the moment, welcoming Djokovic to what they called the “100 match wins at Roland-Garros club.” They posted an edited photo of Djokovic alongside Nadal and shared another message calling the achievement a “new legendary level.”
Djokovic will face a tough challenge in the quarterfinals, where he is set to play against World No. 3 Alexander Zverev. The 28-year-old German has proven to be a strong opponent in the past, and Djokovic leads their career head-to-head with eight wins to five losses.
As the tournament enters its final stages, fans will be watching closely to see if Djokovic can continue his run and possibly add a fourth French Open title to his growing legacy.
