EID AL-FITR: FCT MINISTER URGES RESIDENTS TO EMBODY THE VIRTUES OF UNITY AND COMPASSION
…REAFFIRMS COMMITMENT TO SECURITY AND DEVELOPMENT

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Barrister Ezenwo Nyesom Wike has extended his warm felicitations to the residents of the FCT, particularly the Muslim Ummah, on the successful completion of the Ramadan fast and the celebration of Eid al-Fitr.
In an official message marking the end of the holy month, the Minister described Ramadan as a vital period of spiritual rejuvenation, self-reflection, and renewal. He called on all residents to integrate the core values of the season – compassion, forgiveness, and unity – into their daily lives to strengthen the social fabric of the nation’s capital, urging them to pray for the nation and it’s leaders for peace and progress.
Barr. Wike who also acknowledged the harmonious atmosphere observed over the last 30 days in the FCT, further commended individuals and corporate organizations for their acts of charity and cooperation which he said has helped to foster a sense of belonging among residents.
“It is reassuring to see Muslims sharing and caring for fellow Muslims and non-Muslims alike. By their conduct, they have demonstrated a commitment to maintaining Abuja’s pride of place as the Centre of Unity, Peace, and Harmony in Nigeria”, the Minister stated.
While noting that FCT as the seat of government, will soon witness increased activities ahead of the 2027 general elections, the Minister assured the public that the FCT Administration is dedicated to providing a conducive and orderly environment for all political events.
He expressed profound appreciation for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, noting that the Renewed Hope Agenda has significantly uplifted the socioeconomic fortunes of FCT residents and bolstered security across the territory. He implored residents to pray for the President and continue to support him in his efforts to better the lives of all Nigerians.
The Minister also reassured residents that security agencies were working round the clock to ensure a peaceful holiday and urged the public to go about their celebrations without fear, stressing that the FCTA remains steadfast in its mission to protect lives and property and turning Abuja into a world-class city.
“May we emerge stronger, more united, and more determined to build a prosperous FCT,” the Minister said, and prayed that Almighty Allah (SWT) accepts the fasts, prayers, and good deeds of the faithful”.
He wished all residents a happy Eid Al-Fitr celebration.
