Eid-el-Kabir: FCTA Hosts Vulnerable Groups, vows to Sustain Care

Determined to give the less privileged and vulnerable persons a sense of belonging and boost their morale as cherished members of society, authorities of the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA), have marked the Eid -el- Kabir celebration with the destitute, and other less privileged at the Bwari Rehabilitation Center, in Bawari Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory.

The Administration said it is committed to ensuring that vulnerable groups and other less privileged, especially physically challenged persons in its various rehabilitation centers across the FCT are properly treated and cared for.

Permanent Secretary, FCTA, Mr. Olusade Adesola, stated this during the Edi-el-Kabir celebration with the destitute, physically challenged persons and other vulnerable individuals at the Bwari Rehabilitation Center.

The Permanent Secretary, who was represented at the occasion by the Ag. Secretary / Director Admin and Finance, Social Development Secretariat, Mrs. Justina Pawa, said the FCT Administration will continue to accord vulnerable persons in the FCT all rights and privileges as cherished citizens of the country.

Adesola explained that the government established rehabilitation centers across the Territory to give adequate attention to the needs of the less privileged.

He emphasized that persons who are undergoing various forms of rehabilitation in its centers are also humans and citizens of the country, therefore, deserve to be treated decently.

The Permanent Secretary reiterated that the FCT Administration has always cared for the well-being of the less privileged and other disadvantaged groups and called on corporate entities, and public-spirited individuals to support the government’s efforts aimed at providing for the needs of the less privileged persons in the FCT.

According to him, the Administration’s desire to identify with the disadvantaged groups at all times informed its decision to celebrate Sallah with them at the Bwari Camp.

Pawa, while speaking to those in the rehabs Center, encouraged and advised them to have faith in themselves; saying “You should all remember that there is ability in disability “.

The Acting Secretary also said the FCTA leadership under the Permanent Secretary, is fully ready to support persons in the rehabilitation camps and ensure that they are well-kept at all times.

She commended the management of the Center, headed by Bala Tsoho for keeping to the vision for which it was established.

Food, Clothes, and other items were distributed to the persons in the Camp.

Mrs. Pawa was accompanied on the visit by the Director of Social Welfare, Social Development Secretariat, Sani Amar Rabe .
