The Federal Capital Territory Internal Revenue Service (FCT-IRS) will bring in global perspective to effectively improve its tax collection across the Federal Capital Territory.

The Service will continue to add value to the way it carries out its business, to think globally and act locally.

The Acting Executive Chairman of the Federal Capital Territory Internal Revenue Service (FCT-IRS), Mr. Haruna Abdullahi, gave this assurance after he bagged Global Award on Public Sector Advocacy.

The Award was given by the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) Public Sector Advocacy Award in Nigeria.

According to him, ACCA has given a global mindset and encouraged him to bring a global perspective in everything he does, while still valuing his local roots and will bring such expertise to bear in the day to day affairs of the Service.

“Being an ACCA isn’t just a title for me; it’s a badge of honour,” he added.

His words: “The work ACCA does towards professionalising the public finance workforce and elevating public financial management resonates deeply with my own convictions.”

While appreciating ACCA for the honour done to him and the Service, he reiterated that “I have made lifelong friendships and meaningful connections across the world, thanks to ACCA.”

The ACCA, however, disclosed that Abdullahi is the only Nigerian among the few global personalities that emerged the winners of the awards and he has done well in working to nurture and encourage the next generation.
