In continuation of routine project inspections, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Barrister Nyesom Wike, has conducted a tour of two key projects expected to be commissioned by President Bola Tinubu to mark his third anniversary.

The minister, who inspected the projects on Tuesday, 10th February 2026, visited the 10-lane N5 Life Camp Road and the ongoing Renewed Hope Estate in Karsana. He expressed satisfaction with the progress and quality of work at both sites.

Wike disclosed that the broad N5 Life Camp Expressway, being executed by Julius Berger, was finished, with only minor touch-ups such as walkways and streetlights remaining.

“The bridges, which were not completed during our last visit, are now fully delivered. This four-lane project is set for inauguration during the president’s third anniversary,” he stated.

At Karsana, the minister praised Lubriks Construction for the 10-kilometer ring road, noting its timely execution. “I’ve been assured the project will meet its May-June deadline. We’ll ensure prompt funding to sustain this pace,” Wike added, emphasizing the administration’s commitment to infrastructural development.

He said: “We were at Life Camp, N5, and it’s finished. You were there when Julius Berger said that in three weeks, they would have finished. What they are working on now are the walkways; the streetlights are already there.

“Last time we went there, remember that the bridges were not complete, but today, you could see that the bridges are completed—four lanes on each side. So, we are happy. It’s one of those projects that we think will be inaugurated by the president’s third year in office.

“Here again, we are in Karsana. You can see the walkway done, carried out by Lubriks Construction. I’m very impressed with the quality of work. I didn’t know that it’s like a ring road, covering over 10 kilometers.

“I’ve asked the company, and from what I’ve seen, they’re really going to meet the May-June deadline. I sincerely thank them and believe that, on our part, we will ensure they receive the necessary funding to complete this project on time. But we’re very happy.”

Responding to a question on President Tinubu’s intervention for peace in Rivers State, the minister said:

“Mr. President, as a father, intervened to resolve legislative-executive disagreements. I’ve urged all parties to heed his counsel. This should be the last time Rivers people hear of such discord.

“All I can tell you is that Mr. President has been very kind to the people of the state. If there seems to be a problem between the legislature and the governor, as a father, he really has to intervene.

“I remember this is the second time Mr. President is intervening. I believe, by the grace of God, this will be the last time.”

Continuing, the Minister said “The Assembly—I have told them to do the needful, to obey Mr. President, which I know they will not hesitate. And I also believe that the governor will carry out his own part to make sure that this is the final time Rivers people will hear this kind of discord.”
